Calling all Formwork Project Managers!

An exciting opportunity has become available for a PM to join a reputable Formwork company.

The ideal candidate will have analytical mind and great organisation and communication skills.

Job details;

  • Manage and supervise the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate with the Builder's site management team to determine the exact specifications of each project
  • Work with Site Foremans to ensure all work is done professionally and in accordance with contractual agreements with the client
  • Review projects on a daily basis to ensure client's needs and wants are efficiently met
  • Negotiate contracts with clients/builders to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain approval from client's senior management on contractual obligations, scope of works, project costings, delivery timeline, resource requirements (including manpower, equipment and materials), project and work constrains;
  • Plan all formwork operations and schedule intermediate project phases to ensure deadlines will be met in accordance with the client's project timeline for each phase;
  • Monitor the Critical Path for every project and make sure resources are adequate to deliver the works with any hindrance;
  • Acquire equipment and materials and monitor stocks to handle inadequacies proactively;
  • Hire subcontractors and allocate responsibilities;
  • Work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of our contractual obligations;
  • Create and manage a Change Management Process for tracking Contractual and Scope Changes;
  • Ensure adherence to HSE standards and policies and report issues;
  • Produce weekly report to Senior Management on the health and status of every project;
  • Liaise with co-workers to ensure the work is done in a professional and timely manner.

Specific Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of multiple projects;
  • Liaise with all stakeholders of each project to ensure smooth delivery of agreed works;
  • Analyse and resolve issues immediately and load all issues in a shared register to ensure all project team leaders have access to it;
  • Ensure all works are done in a safe manner in accordance with company HSE policies and standards;
  • Have a close watch over all projects to ensure problems are resolved proactively or as they arise;
  • Produce daily exception reports for each project and discuss items with Senior Management;
  • Evaluate progress and produce detailed reports for every project (including timeline, costs vs. budget, actual resources vs. estimated allocations, constraints, issues, budget overruns, etc;
  • Log every change to the agreed contract and scope of works in a Change Management Process and solicit approvals for all changes in every project prior to commencement of work on the change;
  • Supervise the production of work at a high level in collaboration with site foremans and supervisors;

  • Show an aptitude of "ownership" for every project undertaken
  • Motivate each project team to deliver on time and to safety guideline
  • Work closely with the Accounts Department to ensure project financial are accurate for reporting
  • Use MS Project or similar PM management software to track each project
  • Consolidate all projects onto one high level report and present it weekly to Senior Management

To be sucessfull for this role;

  • Five years in a similar position with a proven track record
  • Formwork industry experience is essential
  • PMP Certification is strongly desirable
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Building Science or similar
  • Must have strong work ethic and be a self-starter
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, diligent and reliable
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with workers, tradies, vendors and subcontractors in a professional manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
